Priyanka Chopra: Equal Pay in Bollywood, A Far-Fetched Idea

Priyanka Chopra Jonas has recently been very outspoken about Bollywood and its less-than-ideal aspects. PeeCee said on a podcast with Dax Shepard during the promotion of her upcoming web series Citadel, which also stars Richard Madden, that she left Bollywood because she felt marginalised.

Priyanka recently visited Mumbai to promote her new web series, Citadel, where she once again addressed the mistreatment she faced in the Hindi film industry. In an interview with Film Companion, she reiterated her previous statements and expressed her views on pay parity in Bollywood. Despite her hard work and success, she revealed that she never received the same pay as her male counterparts and considered the concept of equal pay to be unrealistic in her case.

During the interview, Priyanka highlighted the prevalent issue of the gender pay gap in the Indian film industry, where male actors are often paid more than their female counterparts. She stated that she has been a victim of this disparity and has been paid less even when she had performed equally well or better than her male co-stars. Priyanka’s comments shed light on the ongoing issue of gender inequality in Bollywood and the need for equal opportunities and fair pay for all actors, regardless of their gender.
