We have seen how aggressive have the distributors become after seeing huge losses with Acharya. Even though it’s the movie of Megastar Chiranjeevi, they didn’t hesitate to ask for their compensation. It seems the same scene is repeating for Aamir Khan in the case of Lal Singh Chaddha. It is already evident that the movie is a complete disaster not just in India but all over the world. Many theatres are running empty without any people and exhibitors are being forced to remove the film from the screens. The movie is said to have brought very heavy losses to the distributors throughout India and the overseas market. Now, the recent news is that they are demanding Aamir’s compensation for their losses.
Even though Mr Perfectionist didn’t respond publicly to this, the Bollywood sources say that Aamir has told his movie team to stay quiet for a while until they come out of the shock they endured because of the result. They say that the star will respond once the rough currents iron out and everything is calm. But, the question here is will the distributors stay quiet till whenever Aamir wants? According to the trade pundits, there are two main reasons behind the flop of LSC. The first reason is obviously an attempt of remaking a Hollywood classic and adapting it to Indian circumstances which is not at all a good thought in hindsight. The second is the hatred in the Hindi belt towards Hindi film Industry which in turn is helping the south movies a big time. Be it Sushant Singh Rajput’s mysterious death or the drug scandals or the Anti-India sentiments of mainstream Bollywood stars, people are not at all happy with the B-Town celebs and their response is clearly evident in the results of the Bolly films.
