Ponniyin Selvan is the latest film in theatres, directed by the legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam. The film is produced by the director as well. It is dubbed as his dream project and as expected, the film made good numbers on the film’s release day.
Ponniyin Selvan has got an excellent start at the box office. On the first day of its release in Tamilnadu, the film grossed over 26.85 Cr rupees gross. The film ended as the third biggest opener of the year in Tamilnadu state.

2nd Best – Beast with ₹26.40cr
3rd Best – PS1 with ₹25.86cr
In the Telugu states, the film collected a share of over Rs. 2.8 Cr share. The Hindi circuit recorded a collection of Rs. 1.75 Cr rupees approximately.
