Padma Awards 2024: Here’s the list of Celebrities who were honored!

The Indian government announced the Padma Awards on Thursday. People in the arts, education, industry, literature, science, acting, medicine, social service, and public affairs received India’s second-highest civilian honor, following the Bharat Ratna. As is customary, the awards were announced on the eve of Republic Day. This year’s 132 recipients of the coveted award include Vyjayantimala, Chiranjeevi, Mithun Chakraborty, singer Usha Uthup, and composer Pyarelal Sharma.

1. Late Vijayakanth
Besides them, late Tamil actor and politician Vijayakanth has been posthumously recognized with the Padma Bhushan for his service. He died in December 2023. Vijayakanth’s best-known works include Vaidehi Kathirunthal, Amman Kovil Kizhakale, Poonthotta Kaavalkaaran, Chinna Gounder, and Honest Raj.

2.Mithun Chakraborty (73)

He is one of the most well-known actors in Indian cinema. He began his career with Mrigayaa, which earned him a National Film Award for Best Actor. His other hit songs include Disco Dancer, Agneepath, Ghar Ek Mandir, Jallad, and Pyaar Jhukta Nahin.

3. Megastar Chiranjeevi

The Tollywood legendary actor is all set to receive the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian honor for his contribution to Indian cinema. The Indian government announced the Padma awards today, on the eve of Republic Day 2024.

4. Usha Uthup (76)

A pop queen is credited with pioneering jazz music in Indian films during the 1970s. Some of her timeless hits include Ramba Ho, One Two Cha Cha, Shaan Se, Koi Yahaan Nache Nache, and Hari Om Hari, among others.

5.Vyjayantimala

She is an Indian actress, dancer and parliamentarian  will received the India’s second-highest civilian honor ”Padma Vibhushan award  as Indian government announced the Padma awards today.
