Oscars 2025 : The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that the 97th Academy Awards will take place on March 2, 2025 at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre.
The nominations slate will be announced on January 17, next year.

Announcement
The Academy took to Instagram and posted, “Mark your calendars!” The 97th Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025. The nominations will be announced on Friday, January 17, 2025.
The ceremony will begin at 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET, or approximately 4:30 a.m. The broadcast usually starts at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET ). The awards will broadcast on ABC and in over 200 countries worldwide.
Notably, it will no longer overlap with Austin’s SXSW festival, a conflict that occurred in the past two years.

The general entry and best picture submission deadlines are Thursday, November 14.
Preliminary voting for shortlists in eleven categories will take place between December 9 and 13, with the results published on December 17.
The 2025 Oscars nominations voting period will be done for Jan. 8-12 and the official nominations will revealed on Friday, Jan. 17, which is a new developement as its typically held earlier in the week.
