Oprah Winfrey, an American talk show host, television producer, actress, author, and media proprietor celebrated her 70th birthday on Monday, explained in an essay for Oprah Daily why she chose a more subdued celebration this year.

To commemorate the occasion, she posted a video of herself running along the beach on Instagram.

Reflecting on various suggestions, she immersed herself in deep thought, embracing the wisdom of her friend Wintley, who wisely stated, ‘You’re too blessed to worry. Enjoy the fragrances of your extraordinary life. This sentiment echoed Derek Walcott’s poignant conclusion to her favorite poem, Love After Love, which says, “Sit, feast on your life.”

As a result, Oprah Winfrey has been revisiting her old journals, perusing through photos, exploring memory boxes, indulging, savoring, and marveling at the journey that includes discovery, pain, joy, and wonder.

Oprah Winfrey in another session revealed the discovery of a letter from her friend Gayle King from 1992, which appeared to be related to public discussions about her weight. Despite being unable to recall the specific incident that prompted the letter, discovering it served as a powerful reminder that “everything passes.”
