No Place for Politics in Movies!

Telugu film Industry is always a place that brings people of different castes, religions, traditions, and ideologies together. It’s just like our country which follows unity in diversity. But of late, the movies are being influenced by politics. The association with various political parties is a personal issue and it shouldn’t be forced upon the movies or the audience forcefully says the senior film experts. According to them, if politics are given importance in the industry, that would lead to very unfavorable results.

Of late, Pawan Kalyan movies are being targeted by the AP government as he is their political rival. Similarly, Mahesh’s Sarkaru Vari Pata was targeted by Telugu Desam Party and its sympathizers because of the dialogue in the movie “Nenu Vinnanu, Nenu Unnanu” and the director too confessed openly in an interview that he is a fan of late YS Rajasekhar Reddy. Political affiliations showing the effect on movies is not at all safe for either the films or for the workers of the Telugu Film Industry, says the experts. They are reminding the past days when Superstar Krishna tried to ruffle the feather of late Senior NTR, then supremo of TDP.

Krishna supported Congress Party and made a lot of movies criticizing NTR directly which became a hot topic in those days. Because of their rivalry, the industry was divided into two groups. People that support one group will not get any chances to act or contribute in any other way to the other group. Senior actor Kota Srinivasa Rao was even manhandled by TDP fans because of the movie Mandaladheesudu which was made as a satire on NTR by Krishna. The Industry people of those times still dread the days. A lot of artists and other crew of remaining crafts were troubled in that turmoil. The movie is an art and it should not be seen with any partiality, says the senior pros of the industry.
