Neha Dhupia encourages breastfeeding awareness month

Neha Dhupia about breastfeeding awareness

Neha Dhupia who is in the latter part of her career is mostly seen as a judge in reality shows. Spiltzvilla, Roadies, Love School – you name it, she has it. But, off-screen, she’s a wife and a mother and that’s two roles of her life she takes great pride in. Though she’s a celebrity and the entertainment industry bubble is more progressive than the rest of the nation, it still doesn’t discount women on the important yet tabooed, hush-hush topic of breastfeeding. August every year is considered the breastfeeding awareness month. Neha Dhupia has chosen to give her two cents and include other Bollywood moms in the parade to share their experiences.

Neha Dhupia said, “As a mother of two wonderful kids, Guriq and Mehr, I have personally experienced the challenges and joys of breastfeeding. It’s an incredibly empowering journey, but it’s also essential to recognize that every mother’s journey is unique and should be celebrated without judgment or shame. Through my initiative, ‘Freedom To Feed,’ I aim to shed light on this crucial aspect of motherhood and break the barriers that prevent mothers from openly embracing this natural process. This cause is incredibly close to my heart, and I am determined to educate, dispelling the myths, and foster a more supportive and inclusive environment for all mothers”.

Through the power of social media, Neha will be hosting live sessions with prominent celebrity mothers, including Bipasha Basu, Gauhar Khan, Masoom Minawala, and Dia Mirza. These live discussions will shed light on their personal breastfeeding journeys, sharing insights, and addressing common misconceptions related to nursing. In the past people like Kalki Koechlin, Kajal Aggarwal, Surveen Chawla, Neeti Mohan and others.

A newborn’s life and survival quite literally thrives on breastmilk or breastfeeding, however, with the increasing rate of working women, most babies are fed for less than 6 months that adversely affects their immunity in the long run. It is also a great way to bond with the baby through skin-to-skin contact. But, in the world, especially in South-Asian countries, breastfeeding in public is a great issue. People seem to wrap shame around it and stop moms from breastfeeding her child in public, completely forgetting that it’s a child’s right and necessity.

For such important discussions around breastfeeding, established actresses like Neha Dhupia are rightfully using their platform to speak up on behalf of women that are suppressed.
