Tamil versatile actor Kamal Haasan and Ace director Mani Ratnam announced on Sunday that they are reuniting after 35 years. Their last project together was the landmark 1987 film Naayakan.
The announcement was made on the eve of Kamal’s 68th birthday. Haasan took to Twitter to share the news and fans called it the most unexpected announcement. The film, which will be jointly produced by Haasan and Ratnam, will have music by AR Rahman.
KH 234 is produced by Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam, R. Mahendran and Siva Ananth. Other details about the film are still under wraps. Kamal Haasan is working on Indian 2 and Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan-2 is expected to be released in the summer of 2023. KH 234 will begin once both finish their existing commitments.
The announcement was made through the official Twitter handle of Kamal Haasan.
“Here we go again! #KH234,” the actor tweeted, sharing a 12-second motion poster of the movie.
The movie will be released in 2024, according to the teaser.
Kamal Haasan was recently seen in the action thriller Vikram, which was directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film, which also starred Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Narain, and Suriya won high praise from both critics and audience alike.
