While attending an event, The 73-year-old actor Naseeruddin Shah said we take pride in stating that Hindi cinema is 100 years old. But according to him, filmmakers have been making the same films. He added, “It really disappoints me. I have stopped watching Hindi films. I don’t like them at all,” the Gehraiyaan actor opined.
He also stated, “Hindustani food is loved everywhere because it has substance. What substance do Hindi films have? Yes, they are being watched everywhere. They say, ‘How exotic, how Indian, how colourful’. Soon they will be bored of it because there is no substance,”
Naseeruddin Shah felt there was hope for Hindi cinema only if filmmakers stopped treating film as a means of making money.
