It is a known fact that Akhil Akkineni and Naga Chaitanya condemned Nandamuri Balakrishna’s comments about the surname Akkineni. They issued separate statements in response to Balakrishna’s remarks, claiming that disrespecting such a legendary actor as ANR is equivalent to degrading them.
Adding fuel to the issue, on Wednesday, the Akkineni fans of the Nellore district staged a protest at the Nartaki center. The Akkineni fans burned the effigy of Balakrishna and shouted slogans against the Nandamuri hero.
They said, “The Nandamuri family has been targeting the Akkineni family from the year 1984, just because ANR refused to join politics with NTR.” “We demand Balakrishna come out and tender an apology,”
For the uninitiated, at the Veera Simha Reddy success meet, Balayya said, “My father Sr NTR had some contemporaries: aa Ranga Rao (referring to SV Ranga Rao), Akkineni, Thokkineni, and some others,” speaking about his father NT Rama Rao’s contemporaries. This created a big controversy.
