Million Dollar Club Still Out Of Grasp For Ram!

Ustaad Ram Pothineni is back in theatres with his latest flick The Warrior. Directed by Lingusamy, the action entertainer didn’t reach the expectations of audiences. The majority of the reviews have declared the film as average with a routine plotline. The only novel point is that the protagonist becomes police from being a doctor. People are expecting a very different screenplay and ambience from movies these days. Only those kinds of movies are seeing success. If we see the latest examples like KGF, Pushpa, RRR, Vikram etc.. all are mass movies but were shot with an extraordinary screenplay or build-up. RaPo’s The Warrior failed in this aspect. As a result, collections too, are just in the average segment.

As for Ram, he has another problem in his career. In today’s movie trade, overseas plays a very key role. Especially the US box office matters for the Indian film industry a lot. Almost all the prominent Telugu heroes have scored millions of dollars at the USBO except Ram. He is yet to breach that barrier. Even his recent hit films weren’t able to emulate the same success over there. If Ram wants to be in the race of top-tier heroes, he definitely needs to up his ante and concentrate on the overseas market too, says the film analysts. His previous highest collection overseas is Nenu Sailaja, which stands at around 6.32 lakh dollars. His smashing hit in India, Ismart Shankar has collected just 2.82 lakhs dollars in the US. As Ram’s next project is with Boyapati Sreenu, it has to be seen if he can break the barrier with that movie.
