Manoj Bajpayee says I quit dancing because of this actor

India has seen what a powerful actor Manoj Bajpayee is in films like Gangs of Wasseypur and Aligarh, as well as Satya, Shool, and Rajneeti. In his most recent film, Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai, which was based on actual events, he plays PC Solanki, a defence attorney who takes on a godman in a rape case. The actor recently discussed his transition from portraying ‘characters’ to now playing the ‘hero’ of his films. In addition, he expressed how grateful he is to have changed things for his generation of actors as well as those to come.

Manoj Bajpayee recalled his conversation with Mahesh Bhatt and how the director called him following The Family Man. When I used to hang out with him years ago, I questioned him about why our heroes were never real. He remarked that I would be insane to even suppose that heroes could exist due to the way they are made. Mahesh ji called me after the web show and said he never believed a hero’s interpretation could be altered. He praised me for following suit. His call was such a wonderful gesture. But I’ve fought for it from the beginning; I wanted the heroes to be unique and sincere, he remarked.

We questioned whether the actor ever wished to dance at award events, despite the fact that he professes not to have fallen for the stereotypes that are common in the industry. He responded, “Main kar hi nahi sakta (I can never do it),” with a chuckle. Sincerity be told, I did attempt it once, but I utterly failed. I once performed a dance at Filmfare to a Ghaath song. I understood this was not my cup of tea when I was so exhausted and panting at the end. I eventually stopped dancing the day Hrithik Roshan appeared on the scene. In order to learn all these new moves, I was unable to return to dance school. I requested that everyone keep me out of it.
