We had earlier reported that filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj, who last directed Vijay in Leo, will be teaming up with actor Rajinikanth for Thalaivar 171. The filmmaker, who recently attended the Chennai Comic Con festival, gave an update about the project’s progression.
As per the buzz, the film will be a mass action thriller featuring Thalaivar in a new avatar. During the ongoing event, Lokesh shared details of Thalaivar 171 and spoke about its pre-production process. He revealed that the writing part of Thalaivar 171 is in full swing, and the pre-production may start in two to three months.
Lokesh also said that he cannot stay in touch with many people who have called him recently due to packed and hectic schedules. The filmmaker also mentioned that he is always in touch with superstar Rajinikanth via phone, as he is very excited about the project.
Backed by Sun Pictures banner, the film has music by Anirudh Ravichander. It is doubtful the film will come under Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), which includes Kaithi, Vikram and Leo.
