The designer of shapewear put on a nude corset and a handmade Schiaparelli gown that is primarily constructed of pearl threads. The mother-of-four adorned the stylish outfit with a large cape.
Her ‘Met moment’ occurred a few days after she showed up at the Time 100 gala in a vintage ivory satin slip dress by John Galliano accessorised with crystal necklaces and a pearlescent Chanel clutch bag created by the late Karl Lagerfeld for the SS12 runway line. Given that the Met Gala’s topic this year asks, the nod gave fans an indication as to what they should anticipate seeing from the beauty tycoon at the event.
Kardashian’s most recent Instagram posts were of her at Karl Lagerfeld’s Paris studio, where she was ‘getting a little inspiration for the Met’ while curled up on a bed with the late designer’s cat Choupette. This week, Kardashian has also revealed hints about her Met Gala ensemble.
Kardashian acknowledged that she altered her eating and exercise routines to fit into the dress in question, which was designed by Bob Mackie for Hollywood costume designer Jean Louis and included over 6,000 crystals. It was loaned to Kardashian by Ripley’s Believe It Or Not Museum last year and still retains the record for being the most expensive frock ever sold at auction (a comfortable $4.8 million in 2016).
