Khalnayak 2: Subash Ghai Eyes Allu Arjun And Yash

Subhash Ghai, Bollywood’s Showman, has finished writing the sequel to his 1993 movie ‘Khalnayak’. The original film starred Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Jackie Shroff, and Anupam Kher, gaining fame for its storyline, catchy songs, and controversies, notably around the song ‘Choli Ke Peechay Kya Hai’.

Now, over 30 years later, Ghai plans to bring the story back to the big screen with a fresh face for the character of Ballu Balram, originally portrayed by Sanjay Dutt. Though Sanjay Dutt’s return remains uncertain, Ghai is searching for a young and vibrant actor to tackle this challenging role in ‘Khalnayak 2’.

Ghai has his sights set on top talents from both Bollywood and the southern film industry. Bollywood stars Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor are high on his wishlist for their dynamic acting skills and track record in complex roles.

Ghai’s search extends to popular actors from the south like Allu Arjun and Yash, indicating his intention to blend different cinematic styles and fanbases from across Indian cinema.

Last year, the original ‘Khalnayak’ cast reunited to celebrate the film’s 30th anniversary, reminiscing about its impact. The film was praised for its storyline, performances, and enduring music, with songs like ‘Choli Ke Peechay Kya Hai’ remaining popular.

Ghai is taking his time with ‘Khalnayak 2’, ensuring the casting matches or surpasses expectations. Fans await eagerly to see who will land the role of Ballu Balram and how the sequel will honor the legacy of the original.

‘Khalnayak’, which starred Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, and Anupam Kher, celebrated its 30th anniversary last year. Despite controversies surrounding its release, the film left a lasting impact on audiences. The iconic song ‘Choli Ke Peechay Kya Hai’ remains a chartbuster to this day and even made a reappearance in the 2024 film, ‘Crew‘.
