The drama about Yellowstone’s future just keeps coming. In what may be the most shocking news yet. According to Entertainment Tonight, the main lead of the show, Kevin Costner will not be leading the next season. It’s not clear whether he will appear in the yet-to-be-filmed second half of the fifth season. The publications likewise report that there is no timetable for when the new episodes will be filmed. The crux of the issue with the original Yellowstone series involves star Kevin Costner and disagreements over shooting schedules.
Paramount’s only comment at the time seemingly denied the claims, saying, we have no news to report. Kevin Costner is a big part of Yellowstone and we hope that’s the case for a long time to come. Paramount originally confirmed that part 2 of Yellowstone season 5 will be returning sometime in the summer of 2023.
