Katy Perry called out her nation: “Our country has failed us.”

Dark Horse singer, Katy Perry, is one of the greatest singers of all time. She first appeared in American Idol as a guest judge during Season 9 on the first day of the Los Angeles auditions. Later, On May 16, 2017, ABC revealed her as a judge for Season 16. A few people criticised the choice because of rumours that she might have made $25 million for the job. For seasons 17, 18, and 19, Perry served as a judge once more.

In the recent Season (21) episode of American Idol, a 21-year-old contestant named Trey Louis amazed judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie with his rendition of the country song Stone by Whiskey Myers. Nevertheless, it was his personal story that shook the judges and the audience. The Santa Fe, Texas, native Louis revealed that he was one of the survivors of the massacre at Santa Fe High School in May 2018 in which 10 people perished. When the shooter entered the school and began firing, Louis was in Art Room One. In the unfortunate incident, he lost a lot of pals.

Katy and the other judges were shaken by his words. Moreover, Katy cried and said, “Our country has failed us. This is not okay, you should be singing here because you love music not because you have to go through that incident. You don’t have to lose eight friends. I hope you remind people that we have to change cause I am scared too.”
