Kate Hudson says rom-coms need more ‘Marvel guys!

The rom-com queen told The View panelists that finding a male lead for her specialty is difficult. That’s particularly true as the genre has shifted mostly to streaming.

Kate Hudson, an actress best known for her role in Almost Famous, is known for her charming and vivacious personality. Hudson rose to prominence after starring as Penny Lane in Cameron Crowe’s critically acclaimed film.

Although Kate Hudson is aware of the components of a good romantic comedy, there is one that is a little more difficult to find. In a recent appearance on The View, the actress stated that she has difficulty getting male movie stars to do rom-coms.

“It’s hard to get male movie stars to make rom-coms,” Hudson said. “That’s a big part of the equation.”

Her thought is that a certain genre is draining the available pool of eligibles. “If we can get more Marvel guys like … hey, come to do a rom-com! That’s part of the formula, too,” “Honestly, I think it was well-written and I think there’s this sort of misconception that a rom-com is supposed to have a certain formula — which it does,” she said. “But we made sure we had a great foundation of a script and then the cast…” she said.
