Legendary actor Kamal Haasan has been active with his political and movie ventures. Acclaimed filmmaker Maniratnam and legendary Indian actor Kamal Haasan‘s reunion is something all cine-goers anticipate and are teaming up on an epic project together after 37 years with an interesting drama, titled Thug Life. The director made an official announcement about his collaboration with the actor for the second time after their blockbuster Nayakan in 1987.
Earlier reports indicated that the cast of Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan’s upcoming project, “Thug Life,” faced setbacks as actors Jayam Ravi and Dulquer Salmaan exited the film. Recent reports suggest that actor Silambarasan, also known as Simbu, is poised to replace Dulquer Salmaan in the movie. However, an official confirmation from the makers is awaited.
Thug Life Updates
The highly anticipated action film, “Thug Life,” featuring Kamal Haasan and directed by Mani Ratnam, commenced shooting in January. Initially, the project boasted a star-studded cast, including Dulquer Salmaan. However, Salmaan recently withdrew from the movie due to scheduling conflicts, along with Jayam Ravi.
The shooting schedules were adjusted as Kamal Haasan took a hiatus for the Tamil Nadu Parliament elections. Production resumed post-elections, and efforts are underway to find suitable replacements for Salmaan and Ravi.
Simbu In Thug Life
As per the latest update, discussions are underway with Simbu to take on a significant role in “Thug Life.” However, it remains unclear whether Simbu will replace Dulquer Salmaan or Jayam Ravi. The negotiations are in the final stages, with an official announcement expected soon. Raaj Kamal Films International, Madras Talkies, and Red Giant Movies are jointly producing this high-voltage action entertainer.
If reports are accurate, Simbu is being considered to assume the role initially designated for Dulquer Salmaan, who was set to portray a collector in the film. An official confirmation hinges on Simbu’s agreement to the role. Notably, Simbu is currently engaged in “STR 48,” another project under Kamal Haasan‘s Raaj Kamal Films banner.
Apart from Simbu, the film features a stellar cast including Trisha, Abhirami, Nassar, Gautham Karthik, Joju George, and Aishwarya Lekshmi in pivotal roles. Renowned composer AR Rahman is helming the music for the movie, slated for release next year.
