Bollywood acclaimed director Zoya Akhtar whose upcoming film The Archies is gearing up for its release has sat for a interaction with her father, Javed Akhtar, singer Ankur Tiwari, and Dot discussed about the movie and many things.
In one of their conversations about film, Javed Akhtar shared his opinion on nepotism. Javed Akhtar spoke about Zoya Akhtar for The Archies casting and said how risky it is when making movies and the director when also producing their own film.
Javed said that Zoya, as a filmmaker and producer, has all the rights to cast anybody under the sun. She shouldn’t be questioned, as it is her project, and she is backing it, so she will invest in the profits and losses. He said nepotism can’t exist in the film industry, as success in the industry is based on unbiased election from the audience.
The Archies, helmed by Zoya Akhtar, is written by Reema Kagti and Ayesha Devitre Dhillon, featuring Vedang Raina, Kushi Kapoor, Aditi Dot. Saigal, Yuvraj Menda, Agastya Nanda, Mihir Ahuja, and Suhana Khan. The film will premiere on Netflix starting December 7.
