The Vikram actor took a few questions from students. He enthusiastically answered to the students sharing his wisdom and experiences on navigating life‘s challenges but the interaction took a serious turn when the actor was asked about the growing suicide rates in India.

Kamal surprised everyone sharing his depression phase during the early days of his career. He said he also struggled with suicidal thoughts talking about how he wanted to commit suicide. he talked about the phase where his self-image bred with unwanted thoughts within him and that destroyed his career otherwise.

Talking about it Kamal said “I used to lament that neither the film industry nor the art world was giving me the value that I deserved. At the time I thought, if I died the industry would repent of losing such a talented artist. I have seriously discussed it with my mentor Ananthu. He asked me, ‘If you are a genius, who am I?’ He advised me to continue working and patiently await my time.”

The actor emphasizes how he believes that Suicide is equally sinful as murder and it’s a crime. Advising young students the actor further added, “I don’t know whether there’s anything more I can say about it. It’s a crime. Don’t do it. It’s unkind, so don’t do it. You will get the sunlight. Till then, be patient.”

He encouraged the students about having to accept death as part of life and both are not different things. An endless life has no meaning or purpose so certainly death will come so you don’t need to rush it concluding the meeting. Recently, Vijay Antony’s daughter died of suicide under the pressure of academics.
