IIFA best actors for male and female lead goes to

 

Alia Bhatt bags best actor in a leading role-Female for Gangubai Kathiawadi. Actress received critical acclaim for the movie and her portraying as Gangubai Kathiawadi herself. Numerous publications also listed Gangubai as her best performance in actress career. Movie not only received at IIFA for best female actress but also won a leading 10 awards out of 15 nominations. Alia is seen as Gangubai Kathiawadi also marks as a debut for Shantanu Maheshwari who portrays as actress boyfriend in the film. As Alia is busy with her mommy duties  and film shooting, producer Jayantilal Gada received the award on behalf.

Hrithik Roshan bags best Actor in a leading role-Male for Vikram Vedha, an adaption of 2017 Tamil film with same title directed by Pushkar Gayathri. Hrithik Roshan is seen playing as Vedha Betal in the film. The film was premiered on Jio Cinema including dubbing versions in Bengali and Marathi. Hrithik as Vedha portrayed his grief and vulnerability very well in the film reuniting with Vikram in a fight as the film’s climax hinting for a sequel of the movie.

Talking at the event receiving award, Actor said, “I’ve lived with Vedha for many years now. It began right here in Abu Dhabi. I gave my first shots in Abu Dhabi for Vedha and life has come a full circle to me. Vedha helped me unleash the madness inside me which I don’t know exists. Thank You universe anf vedha for helping me discover that madness and strength to hold that madness. I love you guys…I’ll never take you for granted while the award is announced and presented by actor Anil Kapoor.
