“I took my parents’ sacrifice for granted”: PC says this realization dawned on her in her writing days

Our Citadel Hollywood and Bollywood superhit star actress, Priyanka Chopra is the pride of Indian Cinema. ‘The sky is the limit’ was a phrase made solely for Priyanka. She’s broken through all stereotypes with her powerful speeches and also, her personal life choices. She has brought such normalcy to a taboo romance like hers and Nick’s, the whole world has knelt down and admitted the bitter truth that age, indeed, is just a number. With a 10-year age gap, this time the lady taking the front seat, Priyanka is in her 40s, and her husband in his 30s, they make a beautiful couple that makes everyone blush with their romantic, honeymoon phase moments.

Consequently, the love had to be multiplied. Last year in January, they welcomed their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. Becoming a parent came with a lot of adjustments and challenges. But, with unity, they overcame it all.

Back when Priyanka won Miss India as a teen girl, she’d credited her parents for giving up on their careers to let her chase her dreams. However, the first-hand experience of it didn’t occur to her until she started writing her book as a parent. At Femina, she said, At that time, I took it all completely for granted. I thought, of course, it’s your parents’ job. My career matters. And I didn’t even think about it until I was writing my book. And then it dawned on me.”

Bollywood superstar then clarified, “If I were asked to give up my career and just move countries, I would do it without question for my daughter. It is, still, a huge sacrifice. And we are so blessed to have parents who did that.”

With this, the famous middle-class parents’ dialogue “When you become parents, you’ll know.” gets justified, doesn’t it?
