Huge Demand From Liger Makers

Puri Jagannadh’s directorial Liger has a lot of craze all over India. As Vijay Deverakonda is looking to cement the stardom he found with Arjun Reddy as a pan-Indian actor, the makers of Liger are quoting heavy rates for the film’s rights. If the reports are to be believed, the Liger team demands Rs 10 Crores for overseas theatrical rights and Rs 6 Crores for South Indian languages in the same market. On the other hand, there is a lot of talk regarding the selling of the rights. According to that, the Music rights are bought by Sony for an amount of Rs 14 Crores. OTT rights have gone to Disney plus Hotstar for Rs 65 Crores. Satellite rights are with Star Maa. Coming to theatrical release, trade sources say that AP and Nizam rights are sold for Rs 75 Crores. Hindi belt rights are placed at Rs 25 Crores. Overall, the film must collect roughly a worldwide gross of Rs 200 Crores to get into the breakeven. If it reaches that, this will be the first time in the careers of Vijay and Puri to reach that mark. Starring Ananya Pandey, the film has boxing legend Mike Tyson in a special role. It will hit the theatres on the 25th of August.
