It has been 20 years since actor Hrithik Roshan helped send the adorable alien Jadoo home while playing the role of Rohit in Koi Mil Gaya. Hrithik and Rakesh got down to talk about the movie, the resistance they encountered, and the enthusiastic reception the movie received from the audience as the successful picture celebrated its 20th anniversary. In an interview, they also discussed how the father-son team had to deal with their fair share of setbacks and hurtful remarks over the years.
When asked how he approaches a new job, Hrithik explained that he begins to understand the character once his hair is in place. His father had a humorous answer to this, saying that he is relieved that he is not an actor in the present. Regarding his father’s and uncle Rajesh Roshan’s baldness, Hrithik made fun of it by saying, “Ye ballon ka kissa hamari family mei arson se hai (This discussion over hair has been going on in our family for a long time)”.
Rakesh also related a story about being rudely questioned by a reporter when Hrithik began his acting career. “This individual approached me and remarked, “You are going bald, and your son will also lose his hair. Apke baal nahi hai, aapke bete ke bhi udd jayenge, phir kya karega. What, then, will he do?) You have hair, I stated. What have you done? The director said, “I promised him he wouldn’t lose his fate even if he loses his hair. He pointed to his forehead and remarked, “Lakerein baalon mei nahi hote, baalon ke neeche hote hai.
