After Farhan Akhtar announced Ranveer Singh as the cast for Don 3 yesterday, the wave first surfaced as a meme frenzy. The tongue-in-cheek repulsion took a serious turn with today’s sunrise, as fans are now portraying a more angry than hurt emotion on social media about this cast selection. As a result, the hashtag #NoSRKNoDon has gone viral on Twitter. It’s one thing to dislike a decision and it’s another thing to be hell-bent on boycotting the decision. Don 3 has fallen prey to SRK’s die-hard fans. For them, Don and SRK are inseparable words and they want the ‘rights’ of it to be written exclusively for King Khan on the internet. Before Don 3, the news about the classic Uday-Majnu duo aka Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor exiting Welcome 3 and getting replaced with the Munna Bhai-Circuit duo had given rise to memes and disappointment. Lately, filmmakers have begun mixing and matching a little too much, especially for movie that have been loved in the past. To change the storyline is innovative but when the movie was remembered and loved for its characters, the faces take up a major role.
