Every director today is a fanboy in his early life to some particular star. They work hard to get a chance to finally direct their favorite hero in their favorite character as they dreamt as a fanboy. Such movies have never failed at the box office so far. As they direct their favorite hero according to the fans expect their hero’s on-screen presence.
Hari Shankar in 2012 directed his all-time favorite hero Pawan Kalyan in the movie Gabbar Singh which was a massive blockbuster for Pawan Kalyan after continuous flops. Gabbar Singh is also recorded as the comeback movie of Power Star Pawan Kalyan. This movie collected more than 150 crores worldwide.
Another similar incident is with young director Bobby Kolli. In many interviews, Bobby has mentioned that he was a huge fan of Megastar Chiranjeevi and he wanted to direct him. His dream came true with the recent blockbuster Waltair Veerayya. After his comeback into movies megastar’s most of the movies are remakes, even though they collected good amounts at the box office fans were not satisfied with megastar’s characterization. Bobby as a fanboy directed Waltair Veerayya in a way every megastar fan is waiting to witness Megastar as he was in his earlier movies. Bobby chose a routine script but he kept his one hundred percent efforts of bringing back the vintage megastar Chiranjeevi’s comedy timing, mass attitude, swag, emotion, and action.
Now a new movie by a fanboy director with his favorite hero is going to start its shoot. Director Sujeeth is going to direct Power star Pawan Kalyan and this was tentatively titled Original Gangster [OG]. Sujeeth mentioned that this was going to be an action entertainer with a special twist. This movie contains several action scenes and six songs but none for Power Star. Fans are confused after hearing this news as Pawan Kalyan is famous for his action and how Sujeeth is gonna direct him without any action scenes.
