To all the fans eagerly waiting for a new update to their favourite open-world gaming franchise, here’s something to look forward to. The hype surrounding the Grand Theft Auto series racked a milestone.
Within 24 hours, the GTA 6 trailer reached 90 million views, which made it the most-watched non-music video, surpassing a previous record held by YouTuber Mr Beast. The trailer stands in second place, with Korean K-Pop boy group BTS’s song Butter having 108 million views within 24 hours.
GTA6 is a much-anticipated sequence to GTA5, which was released in 2013, and the gaming scene will start in 2025. GTA 6 also introduced its first female protagonist, Lucia. In a statement, Rockstar Games said, “Grand Theft Auto VI heads to the state of Leonida, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet.”
