Ghoomer’s Buy 1 Get 1 tactic to fill seats
Ghoomer, Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher’s latest movie started its roll in theatres on August 18th, 2023 and the ratings are hanging in the middle. Recently, they started a ‘Buy 1 Get 1’ ticket offer on the movie in selected cities. The conditions are that per ticket must be at least INR 200 and the customer must purchase at least 2 tickets on a minimum to avail the offer. To simplify it, 2 tickets worth INR400 or more should be purchased to get 2 tickets free.
Apart from this, the movie’s team has been coming up with innovative strategies at the promotional events. One time, they invited a few specially abled sports players at the screening and they got to meet Abhishek Bachchan, Saiyami Kher and the rest of the team. Additionally, their reviews were recorded and posted online. Although this is a heartwarming move, fans are saying it’s their trick to promote the movie and fill the seats to get the returns.
Ghoomer is walking on thin ice with a divided review from the audience. Some are loving the characters and the ending, while others are despising the loopholes and the repetitive script that they’ve seen in the past about a sportsperson. In the lead, we have Abhishek Bachchan as Padam Singh Sodhi or ‘Paddy’ who is a failed, drunkard sportsperson whereas Saiyami Kher as Anina is a young, ambitious sportswoman aiming to make it to the Indian Cricket Team. Her life transitions when she comes across Paddy. Right before her debut entry into the team, she loses her limbs in an accident and her courage too. Paddy steps forward as the saving grace in her life and pushes her to excel despite the physical disability. Over all, the movie’s synopsis is great but when the movie is watched in its runtime, most audience is able to pick out the holes in the fabric, stating there’s many places where the movie doesn’t connect logically.
But because it’s an empowering story dedicated to specially abled sportspeople, the movie is doing decent in theatres so far.
