Farhana will be releasing on May 12th in Tamil and Telugu. Directed by Nelson Venkatesan and starring Aishwarya Rajesh. The film has sparked controversy since its trailer was released online, calling for a ban. The film has been embroiled in controversy after some Islamic organizations accused it of containing conversations insulting Muslim women and the hijab. In Farhana, Aishwarya Rajesh plays a working Muslim woman with three children. Selva Raghavan is one of the film’s main characters, but the team has not confirmed that his character will appear in the film. A first look is revealed despite the rest of the cast members being in line. But the controversy sparked by a few that Farhana is being formally censored by a government agency hurt us a lot. Farhana is not against any religion or sentiment.

The storyline of Farhana follows a middle-class mother who takes a call centre job due to her financial reasons. Soon, it gives her freedom but it leads into a web of dangers. Apart from Aishwarya Rajesh, the film also features Malayalam star Anumol and director Selvaraghavan, Jithan Ramesh, and Aishwarya Dutta in prominent roles. Dream Warrior Pictures, the production company behind popular films such as Dheeran Adhikaram Udi, Aruvi, and Kaiti, has produced the film. It is being distributed by Prakash Babu and SR Prabhu.
