Emma Watson to come back to acting in early 2024

In a recent interview, the Harry Potter star opened up about her break from Hollywood and shared what she has been up to recently. She also confirmed that she will start shooting for a movie in early 2024.

Emma Watson is a beloved actress. Her role in Harry Potter as Hermoine Granger captivated the hearts of millions of people all around the world. Starting in movies at the ripe age of 10, she rose to fame quickly and has starred in many movies since then. She has received a wide selection of awards and achievements including being named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine in 2015.

In 2019, she was seen in Greta Gurwig’s  Little Women as Meg March alongside Timothée Chalamet, Florence Pugh, and Saoirse Ronan. However, since then Emma Watson hasn’t appeared in any movies. Talking to the Financial Times, the actor revealed why she had to go on a hiatus and whether this break means retirement. She stated that she wasn’t very happy and that she had felt caged in Hollywood. Watson also mentioned that it was difficult for her to have been the face and spokesperson for things where she didn’t get to be involved in the process.

On being questioned whether she would ever return to acting, the actor replied she absolutely would and that she was waiting for the next right project. It seems Watson has found the right gig as she confirmed her concrete plans to start shooting in early 2024.

During her 5 year break, the actress has taken up several other endeavors. Watson started impact-investing with a group of women to support female entrepreneurs. In 2022, she write and directed a campaign for Prada. Recently, she has also launched Renais Gin, a joint project with her brother, Alex Watson. According to the actress, it is an ode to the sun-kissed vineyards of Chablis where her family has been making wine for the past 30 years.
