Previously, Sumit Kadel, a film trade analyst, stated on X that the next three days will provide more clarity on Dunki’s box office performance, writing, “Dunki Initial pre-sale starts on a remarkable note.” Over 10,000 tickets were sold at national chain multiplexes for the film. Non-national chains are doing well as well. If the momentum continues, Dunki will compete in terms of final advance booking with the top 2023 films. The next three days will reveal the whole picture.”
While advance booking for ‘Dunki’ began on December 16, advance booking for ‘Salaar’ began on December 15. The film starring Shah Rukh Khan will be released on December 21, and the film starring Prabhas will be released on December 22. According to Sacnilk, Dunki has made Rs 1.36 crore in advance bookings. According to the industry tracking site, approximately 38,000 tickets for 2836 Hindi shows were sold on the first day of advance booking.
Meanwhile, advance booking for Prabhas’ Salaar began on December 15 and has so far collected Rs 1.52 crore.
Dunki and Salaar will compete for box office attention because the two highly anticipated films arrive in theaters on the same day. Salaar will be released on December 21st, while Dunki will be released on December 21st and Salaar will be hitting the theaters on 22nd December.
