Actor and film maker, Farhan Akhtar just announced his new project with Ritesh Sidhwani. The two previously paired up for movies, Don and Don 2 staring Shah Rukh Khan and the titular ‘Don.’ The announcement was made with the motion poster showing the number 3 along with, ” A new era begins.”
As we had previously reported the film is said to star Ranveer Singh as the new don and was initially said to be announced on his birthday. The motion poster however has garnered several comments from netizens who are excited for the film but not SRK’s replacement with Ranveer.
Many took to the comments to express their refusal of viewing Ranveer in King Khan’s role writing, “You can’t ever Replace SRK in ur wildest dreams!!” and “You can’t ever Replace SRK in ur wildest dreams!!” Some were supportive of the casting commenting ,”Ranveer Singh has the potential to do justice to DON. Lets hope for best.”
The role of Don was first portrayed by Amitabh Bachchan followed by SRK and now it is reported that the baton is being passed to Ranveer Singh. The official announcement is said to be made shortly. And the teaser of Don3 is reported to be attached to Gardaar2 and OMG2. Ranveer is said to start shooting for the Farhan directorial after after wrapping Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Baiju Bawra.’ Don3 is said to be hitting theaters in 2025.
