Bollywood’s one of hottest divas and one of the highest-paid actors, Deepika Padukone, turned 37 today i;e January 5, and the whole world is celebrating her birthday.
Before achieving one of the highest positions in Bollywood, she used to be a badminton player, just like her father, Prakash Padukone. Moreover, she left modelling and did her first film, Aishwarya, in the Kannada film industry. Later, Padukone debuted in Bollywood and then played a dual role opposite Shah Rukh Khan in her first Bollywood release, the romance Om Shanti Om (2007), which won her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. She never looked back after this and gave the film industry some breathtaking movies like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat, Love Aaj Kal, Race 2, Cocktail and the list goes on. She also made her acting debut in Hollywood through XXX: Return of Xander Cage.
Along with stealing many hearts, she also received numerous awards as she is the recipient of; 80 accolades and her credit, respectively. She has received three Filmfare Awards, three IIFA, two Producers Guild Film Awards, nine Screen Awards, three Stardust Awards and six Zee Cine Awards.
On her birthday, Yash raj films released a poster of her from her upcoming movie ‘Pathaan‘ in which she is holding a gun and looks fierce and powerful. Side by side Vyjayanthi Movies released her poster from another forthcoming project called ‘Project K’. The poster sets out a hint regarding her character as it mentions, A hope in the dark. In the photo, she looks completely different from the previous poster. Her picture portrays a calm yet powerful lady and a guardian spirit.
