Dasara Star Dheekshith Marks His Malayalam Debut

After completing a 32-day shooting schedule in Kerala for his debut Malayalam film “Oppees,” Dheekshith Shetty shares insights into his experience. Almost nearing completion, the film requires only 5 more days of shooting, set to take place in Scotland. Reflecting on the Kerala leg of filming, which included locations in Thodupuzha, Kochi, and Wagamon, Dheekshith acknowledges the challenge of enduring the intense heat. Nevertheless, he finds the experience refreshing, despite working in an unfamiliar language.

Dheekshith Upcoming Films

Working in Malayalam posed the greatest challenge for Dheekshith, as it was entirely new to him. While he isn’t dubbing for his role, he has made efforts to ensure his lip-syncing is accurate. With the assistance of the director and the production team, he received guidance on pronunciation for his lines.

Dheekshith expresses a desire to learn the language better and dub for his character given more time. However, with the film’s targeted release in August and his busy schedule ahead, dedicating additional time for language learning isn’t feasible.

Ooppees release date

In “Oppees,” Dheekshith portrays the character of Sunny, a DJ residing in Scotland. Sunny’s decision to return to Kerala to explore the field of parapsychology forms the crux of the film’s narrative. While Sunny is the central character, Shine Tom Chacko’s role as his friend holds significant prominence, almost akin to a parallel lead. Following Sunny’s return from Scotland, his interactions predominantly revolve around Shine’s character. This dynamic adds depth to the storyline and emphasizes the importance of their friendship in Sunny’s journey.

Dheekshith, known for his roles in Telugu and Kannada cinema, is gearing up for an exciting lineup of projects in the coming months. After casting his vote in Bengaluru, he will head to Hyderabad to commence work on three Telugu films. Among these is Prem Chand Kilaru’s directorial debut, an unnamed high-budget adventure epic, and a project from the creators of Dasara, KJQ.
