Christopher Nolan promises to continue making large-scale films, claiming that the resources at his disposal are a responsibility. In an interview with Time magazine, Christopher Nolan expressed his admiration for smaller-scale dramas such as Aftersun and Past Lives, contrasting with his extensive portfolio. However, he stated that, despite his deep appreciation, he is unlikely to create such films himself.

Hollywood’s most celebrated director recognized the abundance of talented filmmakers worldwide who aspire to the opportunities he has. In light of this, he emphasized his sense of responsibility to use these resources in the most innovative and meaningful way possible.

Nolan’s latest directorial venture, Oppenheimer, operated on a comparatively smaller production budget of $100 million. This stands in contrast to his previous film, Tenet, which boasted a budget of $200 million.

Christopher Nolan completed the filming of Oppenheimer in approximately 60 days. Notably, production designer Ruth De Jong disclosed that he strategically reduced around 30 filming days. This decision was made to reallocate the film’s budget, focusing on enhancing production design and securing unique set locations.

Oppenheimer also received numerous accolades, including five wins at the 81st Golden Globe Awards, as well as a leading 13 nominations each at the 77th British Academy Film Awards and was nominated in 11 categories 96th Academy Awards, including Best Film  Best Picture, and Best actor respectively.
