In recent times, except for Bimbisara, Sitaramam and Karthikeya 2, not many movies were successful as people didn’t seem to have any interest in going to the theatres. But surprisingly, Mahesh Babu’s Okkadu and Pokiri re-mastered releases have seen people flocking to the theatres. This came as a shock to many film elders. As of now, makers of cult classics are looking to milk the trend. Pawan fans are demanding for Jalsa to be re-released along with other classics of Pawan like Tholiprema, Badri, Khushi etc. The same is the case with Megastar Chiranjeevi fans as well. For the past few days, Vyjayanthi Movies is being pressured by mega fans to re-release Indra, one of the best mass blockbusters of Chiru.
Directed by B Gopal, the movie created a sensation after its release. The film has become the highest grossing film of that year with a worldwide collection of Rs 45 Crores of which Rs 39 Crores is from AP. Overall in India, the film is the second highest grossing film with Shahrukh’s Devdas in the first place. As soon as the re-releasing has become a trend, Megafans are very eager for Indra to experience it on the big screen. Unable to cope with the pressure from fans, Vyjayanthi Movies has responded on Twitter. “Dear Megastar Fans. Not only you, but we are also eager for Indra. We will be releasing 4K Print of Indra, but not right now. It will take some time but the release will be in a BIG & GRAND Manner” wrote the mega production house. It has to be seen how many new records will these re-releases will churn out.
