‘Brahmastra’ gets into Disney Slate!

For the first time ever, an Indian film is going to get a proper huge release worldwide. The socio-fantasy thriller ‘Brahmastra’ was added to Disney’s domestic slate alongside Disney’s own movies like Thor: Love and Thunder, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and Avatar: Way of the Water. This is the first time, an Indian film made it to Disney’s release list. Brahmastra part one: Shiva is the first of the Trilogy of movies in a cinematic universe Astraworld ala Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie is shot for a long 7 years time and will be in theatres later this year. Indian films in general, do get distribution overseas but when Disney itself is the distributor, it’s altogether a different level, says the trade pundits. Disney owns giants like Fox, Marvel, and Pixar. It has great mechanisms all over to see that the film will be getting a proper release and reach. It’s safe to assume that Brahmastra might be breaking a few records after its theatrical release. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachan, Mouni Roy, Akkineni Nagarjuna, and Dimple Kapadia in key roles, the film is directed by Ayan Mukerji. His previous works include Wake Up Sid and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.

The movie plot is said to be revolving around the rise of an ancient destructive force and the protagonist’s heroics to contain it. With a lot of VFX involved, the movie team is leaving no stone unturned until the proper output is reached. The project is bankrolled by Dharma Productions, Starlight Pictures, and Prime Focus. Along with Hindi, Brahmastra will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada on the 9th of this September. The fun fact is, Lead actors Ranbir and Alia fell in love when the shoot of this film started, ie., 7 years back. As the movie is nearing its release, the couple is happily married now.
