Bollywood boycott trend targets Allu Arjun’s Pushpa

The boycott trend has become the norm on Twitter in the past few years and has hit Bollywood films way too hard. From Laal Singh Chaddha to Pathaan, many Bollywood films faced a boycott. However, now a Bollywood page bought it into Tollywood films as well.
There has been an official poster of Allu Arjun’s latest upcoming movie Pushpa going around social media that caused some intrigue among fans and it was confirmed to be official once the team shared it on their social media platforms. The colourful poster features Icon Star Allu Arjun in a virtually unrecognizable look, donning a saree, and bangles, all dolled up with a gun in hand. This avatar is believed to be the ‘Gangamma Jatara’ avatar, popular in Tirupati.
Holding a gun while dressing as some Hindu god with a tilak on his forehead? @alluarjun what are you trying to prove? does Hinduism promote violence only? Do we consider immoral people like Pushpa our god? Stop insulting our culture, a Bollywood page that spreads the boycott narrative stated on Twitter.
However, on the same page, Telugu audiences are commenting that Bollywood movie buffs have no right calling out South filmmakers over the religious aspects. South filmmakers always pay top attention to such aspects and value them above all. Few are stating that it’s too early to come to conclusion on posters and should wait till the film releases.
