Shahid Kapoor’s new movie Bloody Daddy, which skipped the theatrical release, is streaming for free on Jio Cinema since yesterday. Even if you don’t pay a subscription, you can watch it for free. As Ali Abbas Zafar, who has given blockbusters to stars like Salman Khan, is the director of this film, expectations for this film are high before its release. Also after watching the trailer, everyone thought that the film promises a good action drama.
But after its release, the critics are uniting it as the biggest disaster in the career of Shahid Kapoor. It is said that if it had come on the big screen, it would have been out of theaters in three days.
The plot of the film revolves around narcotics officer Sumer Azad (Shahid Kapoor) who catches drugs worth fifty crores. A member of the villain gang dies in this sequence. But mafia don Sikandar (Ronit Roy) who doesn’t want to give up the mall kidnaps Sumer’s son and makes a bargain. Summer prepares to meet them with a bag of drugs. What happened forms the rest of the plot. It is a remake of the Hollywood movie Sleepless Night. Inspired by this, in 2015, Kamala Haasan did a film Cheekati Rajyam which also stood as a disaster.
Again after eight years with the same story, this bloody daddy was made. Ali Abbas Zafar has made this film with a boring screenplay and annoying scenes. As the line is very short, the film looks very stretched for two hours. Blindly following the original, without making changes to suit our audience’s sensibilities was also the biggest mistake made in Bloody Daddy. Although there is no technical twist, the content has fallen down with a bad stamp.
