Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Zee5, and other OTT platforms are now on a roll. All the OTT platforms are waiting to grab the biggies to their kitty and stream them in less than two weeks of the movie’s release in theatres. However, this is killing the theatrical business and landing the producers in a loss zone. To take a firm decision about the same, the industry big-wigs are heading up for a meet to find a solution for the same.
A crucial meeting is being held today in Hyderabad to discuss the challenges, possibilities, and solutions to avoid inconvenience to the producers.
Allu Aravind, Dil Raju, DVV Danayya, Bunny Vas, Suresh Babu, and other top producers are expected to grace the occasion. If the reports are true, the producers will be adding a clause where films should be out on OTT platforms only 50 days after their theatrical release. We have to see if the streaming services will agree to the decision.
