Ajith Kumar’s ‘Thunivu‘ is all set to release during 2023 Pongal. Meanwhile, Thalapathy Vijay’s much anticipated next movie ‘Varisu‘ is also slated to release during Pongal. Already Netflix grabbed the streaming rights for Thunivu which has huge expectations eagerly waited by a huge fandom.
Thunivu is helmed by H. Vinoth who previously directed movies like Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru and also Valimai, Nerkonda Paarvai with Ajith as the lead.
Varisu on the other hand is directed by Tollywood director Vamshi Paidipally and stars Thalapathy Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna in main leads. By latest the shooting will mostly wrapped by October 27. There are rumours that he will soon announce his next.
Being two of the biggest stars of the Tamil film industry and there is a special rivarly between their fanbases of both stars. Before this, these two stars clashed during Pongal in 2014 too, when Ajith Kumar came up with his ‘Veeram’ directed by Siruthai Siva and Vijay was releasing ‘Jilla’ directed by Nelson. Both the films did a good business in the theatres as they were feelgood family dramas.
