Bholaa, starring Ajay Devgn Amazon Prime Video for a sum of Rs 30–40 crore, according to reports. The film released on March 30, 2023, earned Rs. 11.20 crore at the Indian box office and stood as a flop. The film faced tough competition from the South superstar Nani’s Dasara, which collected over Rs 15 crores on its opening day in India, as per reports.
The surprising thing is that though the movie is now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video, it came with a rental fee of Rs. 399. To say, the film, a remake of the Tamil blockbuster Kaithi, failed to impress audiences at the box office. Audiences are surprised how Amazon Prime feels that people pay such an amount for a flop remake film. For the unversed, the movie is a remake of the Tamil movie Kaithi, which was directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and starred Karthi, Narain, Arjun Das, and Dheena.
Bholaa, which is directed by Ajay Devgn, and jointly produced by Ajay Devgn, Dream WarriorPictures, T-series, and Reliance Entertainment. It also features Tabu, Gajraj Rao, Deepak Dobriyal, and Sanjay Mishra in important roles. The film revolves around Ajay Devgn’s character, who tries to escape death at every corner after being released from prison and on his way to meet his daughter.
Apart from this Ajay Devgn is currently busy promoting his upcoming film Maidaan, a biographical movie directed by Amit Sharma who shared the writing and screenplay together with Ritesh Shah and Saiwyn Qadri. Cinematography by Tushaar Kanti Ray. The film is produced by Boney Kapoor and backed up by Zee Studios. This movie was to be released but Ajay Devgn requested the makers to release the movie only after Bholaa so it’s now pushed up and all geared up to hit theatres on 8th September after multiple postpones.
