Ayushmann Khurrana’s take on mid-budget films 2023!

According to Bollywood critically acclaimed actor Ayushmann Khurrana, the Indian audience is looking for content to which they can relate. He was also pleased to have worked on films such as Andhadhun, Article 15, Vicky Donor, and Badhaai Ho. Assume there was a Bollywood conspiracy theory.

In 2023, the Indian film industry regained the confidence and trust of cinephiles with films such as The Kerala Story, 12th Fail, OMG 2, and Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway, among others. While the majority of these weren’t big-budget films, they did well at the box office. Ayushmann Khurrana believes that this is because audiences are hungry for new stories and high-quality content.

Ayushmann Khurrana recently told Variety that it was a common misconception that Indian audiences only loved big-budget films like Jawan, Pathaan, or Tiger 3. “There was a conspiracy theory maybe a year ago that Indian audiences were only looking for spectacles or larger-than-life films,” he explained. But this year, a lot of films with low to mid-budgets did exceptionally well.”

“Dream Girl 2 did well, so did OMG 2, and Gadar 2 was technically also a mid-budget film,” the Doctor G actor added. That standard has been broken, and the conspiracy theory has been proven false.” He went on to say that in 2023, the audience would accept anything unusual that simply resonated with them. “It doesn’t have to be a big film or a spectacle.” We’ve seen small films succeed in the past. The industry has gotten back on track. This is a very encouraging sign for this year,” Khurrana added.
