Avneet Kaur is an Indian television actress who started in this industry as a child. As she grew up, she became extremely popular for her role in Aladdin beside Siddharth Nigam. She has participated in dance shows, one of them was Jhalak Dhhikla Jaa where she paired up with Darsheel Safary (the kid from Taare Zameen Par). From starting off as a child actress to reaching great heights, getting to work in Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani, Avneet Kaur has made her mark in Bollywood as young as 13.
But those were supporting roles or short clips. Her first ever debut, as a lead role in Bollywood is her upcoming movie Tiku Weds Sheru. What’s better? She’s going to work with two phenomenal, most underrated Bollywood artists of all time – Kangana Ranaut and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. These two actors have more movies under ‘I’ve never seen it’ than ‘Of course, I know,’. Kangana Ranaut is famous for her Tanu Weds Manu role while Nawazuddin Siddiqui nailed it in Sacred Games.
Avneet Kaur is already at 32 million followers on Instagram, which is going to blow up like crazy after the release on June 23 on Amazon Prime. Today, she expresses how she feels about this opportunity coming her way. “This is very special to me. I was just crying while watching the trailer. Just to say that, it’s my debut, and getting to do my first film with Nawaz sir and Kangana ma’am, is extremely big for me.”
“When I got to know about this project, and when ma’am chose me as her Tiku, that was so special for me. I just wanted to prove, that I can and I will do justice to this character, because I know, Tiku is so close to her heart. The story is so close to her heart. I have to say that, I was extremely nervous about sharing screen space with Nawazuddin Siddiqui. I still have that nervous.”
“All I have to say is, thanks to Kangana ma’am and Nawaz Sir for choosing me and for giving me this opportunity. I have really done a lot of hard work. She treated me like her own and she was there in each and every scene. I have rehearsed each and every scene with ma’am and sir.”
