James Cameron’s Avatar 2 is now officially in theatres. Initial shows are receiving a tremendous reaction, as expected. Booking trends made it very evident that the box office was on fire.
Coming to the Indian domestic market, the film breaks records on Day 1 in both Telugu states.
Only in Telugu-speaking states, the movie made over 14 crores on its first day. This masterpiece made over 100 crores in just three days throughout India.
It’s interesting to note that the movie is soaring to the one crore gross level in Hyderabad at RTC X roads. As of Monday, the film made over RS 78,32,647 at RTC X roads.
At RTC X roads, the gross would soon top one crore. The movie has recently reached the 150 million dollar threshold in US box office receipts.
The sequel continues the prequel’s legacy by engaging in India’s current money-making rage.
The film crew, led by director James Cameron, is largely confident in their project, which opens up a new world of experiences, particularly underwater.
According to many commentators, the second instalment will follow the first. The prequel performed similarly; although the film’s run got off to a poor start, eventually it reached the incredible milestone of 23000 crores of Indian rupees in 2009 alone.
