Asha Parekh To be honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award

As per the latest reports, Promising actor Asha Parekh will be honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke award for 2020. By hearing this, everyone is happy that the Asha is getting the highest recognition in the field of Indian cinema.

Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur shared this news on Tuesday. Announcing the decision, the Union Minister Anurag Thakur said, “I am honoured to announce that the Dadasaheb Phalke Selection Jury has decided to recognise & award Ms Asha Parekh ji for her exemplary lifetime contribution to Indian Cinema.” The Minister also announced that the 68 th National Film Awards will be held on September 30, 2022 and will be presided over by the President Droupadi Murmu.

The 79-year-old actor, best known for films such as “Dil Deke Dekho”, “Kati Patang”, “Teesri Manzil”, and “Caravan”, is considered one of the most influential actresses of all time in Hindi cinema.

Asha also worked as a director and producer. She directed the most famous Bollywood TV drama “Kora Kagaz” in the late 1990s.

Last year in 2021, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2019 was conferred on Rajinikanth.
