It’s no secret that Mega Star Chiranjeevi’s Acharya is one of the biggest debacles of this year in Tollywood. For the past few days, web media is abuzz with the buyers tailing the film’s director Koratala Siva to cover their losses. Finally, there seemed to be some kind of settlement too. But now, the movie’s name is in the news again. This time, the shock comes from the satellite rights holder Gemini TV. If the reports are to be believed, the channel is said to be not interested in holding the movie rights at all and is in trials to get relieved of the movie.
Gemini has bought the movie prior to release as no one thought the level of debacle it will become. It is said that the deal is for Rs 15 Crores. But, Kajal Aggarwal starring in the movie is a part of the agreement which was not honoured by the makers. As a result, Gemini is not ready to splash the complete money. It is asking Koratala to sell the movie for Rs 7.5 Crores for them which is half the rate they agreed upon at first. If not, the channel is said to be demanding back the advance they have given. Koratala can neither sell the movie for losses nor is in a position to give back the advance. As a result, they say that he is soup unable to decide.
