Another actress voices her words about TMKOC’s negativity

After the show’s producer Asit Kumarr Modi was accused of sexual harassment last month, another actress opened up about the problematic environment on the sets of the show. Monika Bhadoriya, who played the role of Baga’s love interest Bawri, has opened up about the toxic environment on the show’s set and how her payment was delayed by the makers for more than a year. “I went through a lot of family tragedies. I lost my mother and grandmother, both within a very short period of time. They both were pillars of my life, they raised me so well. I was not able to deal with their loss and I thought my life was over. During this time, I was working for Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, which was also very torturing. So all this torture and thoughts made me feel that I should commit suicide.”

“I was a very different kind of person when I joined TMKOC and the show completely changed me. When I looked at myself, I thought ‘What have I become working with them?'” Speaking of how the makers reacted to her parents’ death, the actress said, “They (TMKOC makers) said, ‘Her father died, and we gave the money. We gave the money to treat her ill mother.’ These words had hurt me deeply.”

Monika revealed that this happens to a lot of actors working on the show but they refrain from speaking about it, probably because they need to work. The actor spoke about the time when no one supported her and said, “When I left the show, nobody stood by my side. I approached the media and when the media wanted to talk to me, they made me sign a bond and said, ‘If you’ll sign these papers and not go to media, we will release your due payment, otherwise no.’ Even after signing the bond, they did not clear my payment. I called them for a year and at one point, they stopped picking up my calls. Someone told me ‘Call them and say I will go to CINTAA’.”
